As outlined in the Association Implementation Report on Ukraine, reform in Ukraine is a long-term process looking to bring long-term results. Ukraine has undertaken in-depth structural reforms in some key sectors, which further revitalized democratic institutions and boosted economic integration with the EU on the basis of the AA/DCFTA. As a result of Ukraine’s committed protection and promotion of fundamental values of democracy, EU has provided several macro-financial assistance loans to support specific reforms. The focus for 2015/16 has been decentralization (EUR 100 million), economic development (EUR 90 million), anti-corruption (EUR 15 million), public administration (EUR 104 million) and rule of law (EUR 52.5 million plus Technical Cooperation Facility EUR 29.5 million) as well as migration management (EUR 28 million). Ukrainian civil society has also taken an active position in contributing to the promotion of changes within the country in a way of public communication and explanation the rationale for, and benefits of, the reforms undertaken by the government.
